Field and Tactical Medical Training/Consulting

Contingent Medic

Tactical Self-Reliance

Tools of the trade for Contingent Medics

Contingent Medic

The objective of this two-day, immersive course is to establish a baseline for a layperson (healthcare pros are welcome too;) who is designated as their team’s Medic during infrastructure failures.  These failures may be due to violent civil unrest, sustained terrorist attacks, or any number of potential events requiring tactical self-reliance in rural or urban environments.  This course will provide information and skills for family/community preparedness groups who have designated a team Medic to oversee their group’s health, medically related skills and equipment.  This person may be responsible for the group’s decision to shelter in place with medically compromised teammates, and/or evacuating the sick or injured to a new location or appropriate facility.  Students will learn through lecture, hands-on skills practice, and benefit from immersion teaching methods.  Although each student will learn how to function as an independent aid provider, they will also learn how to function as a cohesive team.  There may be a voluntary overnight bivouac between TD1 & TD2 which is part of the immersion training session; dependent on venue.  There will be no live-fire during this course.
Training Day 1 will be conducted in the classroom.
Training Day 2 (including the bivouac) will be conducted in the field.
Some physical exertion may be required, however we will do our best to work within your capabilities.
